Koyo Okada Vintage Silver Gelatin Print of Mt Fuji taken from Lake Kawaguchi
An original Silver Gelatin print from the famed Japanese photographer Koyo Okada. A photo of the sacred mount Fuji taken from the perspective of Lake Kawaguchi. Not framed. Overall good condition. Silver mirroring visible at edges under right light. Sheet curls inward slightly. Slight chipping and wear to corners and extreme edges. Upper right corner has a crease and some rippling. Signature is embossed in the lower left corner. The back is unmarked. Koyo Okada devoted his life to photographing Mount Fuji and it is said that he took around 400,000 photographs of the sacred mountain. During World War II, his early negatives were destroyed but continued his life’s work after the war until his death.
