Working out of Tampa, Florida and Beverly Hills, California, Kelly’s photographs have been collected worldwide for over 25 years and have been a best seller on Ebay since 1999. His subject matter includes landscapes, botanicals, male and female nudes, surrealist studies and more. 2018 marked the beginning of an intense period of new work for Kelly which has resulted in a truly extraordinary body of imagery that often defies photographic convention. Keeping his new work under wraps for over 3 years in the making, he is now releasing his limited edition fine prints to select galleries, auction houses and dealers. We are proud to be the Official Ebay Representative for Kelly’s latest and perhaps his finest work. His technique and visions have come full circle and his early appreciations are all given a nod here… nostalgic hints of William Mortensen, Josef Sudek, Horst P. Horst, Salvadore Dali, Picasso, Brett Weston, Paul Outerbridge and even the campy nudes of the 1920’s with Albert Arthur Allen and Edwin Bower Hesser influences… all of whom Kelly says inspired him in early years. Old school in method (he describes himself as a primitive) Wright is a hand in the face of today’s digital manipulations… instead creating his images and effects in real time before his camera rather than on a computer screen. Except for toning, spotting and occasional crops his work is not digitally altered… as in the pictures and effects are not made in digital software programs (Photoshop, etc.)…they are created at the time of the actual shoot as the shutter is tripped. His surrealist studies are accomplished with fine fabrics, liquid and precisely controlled light. Set-ups and formula’s for his surrealist work can take up to 2 full days to affect before the shutter button is touched.
